EDIBLE FOREST PROGRAM
WHAT IS OUR EF PROGRAM?
Located at the Morningside Community Center, our Edible Forest helps supplement the community at the epicenter of a 2-mile radius food desert. Fruit trees, veggies and herbs are freely available to the public. In addition to building food sovereignty in East Knoxville, our EFP hosts community events as well as a bootcamp that provides young adults skills in sustainable agriculture and growing.
HOW WE DELIVER.
GREENHOUSE CAFE EVENTS:
In 2021, we worked together to transform our empty greenhouse into a Greenhouse Cafe, a safe space for the community to gather, where we have been featuring artists, poets, dancers, and singers. We welcome all people who want to love and support the community in this beloved space.
EDIBLE FOREST BOOTCAMPS:
Our EF Program also hosts a 4-week bootcamp that pays young adults while providing them skills in sustainable agriculture and growing.
