Fall 2022 CRP
SEEED's Fall 2022 Career Readiness Program started on September 13th! We’re about halfway through the program. Here’s a look at what the participants have been doing in the first 4 weeks.
Week 1

In week 1 participants were given an introduction to SEEED and had an opportunity to get to know each other. Participants also learned about meal prepping and healthy eating. Femeika Elliot, owner of Meik Meals, talked about meal prepping and healthy eating with participants.

Week 2
In week 2 participants talked about the different aspects of physical and mental health. Many different instructors came to talk to our participants.

Zhannae S. Cummings, from the Mental Health Association of East TN, talked with participants about Mental Health 101. Our Program Director, Darcy, talked with participants about time management as well as creating a professional email.

Several speakers from the Knox County Health Department spoke to participants about physical health as well as healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Week 3
To start week 3 participants went to the Beck Cultural Exchange Center. Later, City Councilwoman Gwen McKenzie talked to participants about the Knoxville Government and Civic Engagement.

Participants learned more about Knoxville Area Transit. Cindy Cox talked to participants about the different routes that are available and types of passes they can buy.

Week 3 ended with SEEED Knox’s Ally party. The Ally party was an opportunity for CRP participants to network and work on their communication skills.

Week 4
In week 4 participants learned more about finances. Morgan Burlingame taught participants about credit. Bill Wyrick taught participants about saving and investing.

On the last day of week 4, Wayne Kramer taught participants about the BAR Association and the legal system. Participants also worked on resume building.
