Geodesic Greenhouse Dome Design
This is the inside of a geodesic greenhouse dome.
John Cockerille first proposed the Geodesic Greenhouse Dome project to SEEED in December 2011. The geodesic dome will be a greenhouse where a person can grow their food year round. This dome is not just a greenhouse but also a symbol of sustainability. If someone were to build one of these they could grow anything they wanted to year round. They would not have to rely on outside sources to get food and they can become self-sustaining. This is a project that SEEED is looking to pursue in this coming year. More information about it will be posted soon. If you are interested in getting involved please email us at seeedknox@gmail.com.
Meeting with the First Female Mayor
Represenatives of KEAP Green Jobs and SEEED with Knoxville's first female mayor, Mayor Madeline Rogero
SEEED has been collaborating with KEAP Green Jobs in order to establish a weatherization loan program for low to moderate-income residents. As a part of this, KEAP set up this meeting with the mayor and invited SEEED to attend. In this meeting KEAP presented to Mayor Rogero the idea of a weatherization loan program in partnership with the city of Knoxville for low to moderate-income residents. More research is needed in order to begin this partnership but we believe this was a step in the right direction. If you would like to get involved with this process please email us at seeedknox@gmail.com
