2011 Progress Report

What a whirlwind year!

With an almost 100% volunteer staff, we completed a winter semester of 12 weeks of our Pre-Apprenticeship Program. It was our first full program with five students, 3 male and 2 female. Three are currently employed and one is now repeating the program this summer.

Green the Block 2 was held in April. We had 65 people working to clean up the streets around Magnolia Ave and also do some work in 2 community gardens.

In June, we started a 10 week Pre-Apprenticeship program with 5 students, 2 female and 3 male.

We've started Listening Project 3, which includes starting a middle school Social Organizing club, and hosting a workshop on organizing at the grass roots level for this coming winter. The goal of LP3 is to develop grassroots support for an on-bill loan program to weatherize low and middle income homes.
